Access – often on sites you will find that access is restricted. Make sure you know the minimum width and height of the route you wish to use. Many of our diggers have variable track widths to help get through narrow gaps.
Job Type – getting the right type of machine for the job is important. You need to work out how deep you need to dig as this will help determine the size of digger you need.
It is important that you check for any sign of underground services. This can be drainage, gas, electricity, telephone or anything that could be damaged by a digger.
You are responsible for any damage to, or the theft of any machine on hire to you. Hire-In Plant Insurance is a compulsory requirement.
Trade may already have cover, a current up to date copy by email would be required before hire.
Alternatively, we can arrange cover with an independent insurance provider
No, we will make sure to explain all the controls and the safe operation of the machine when we deliver it.
Legally, no. There is no requirement for an operator to hold a license. If you are working on a site, you may find that they will require an operator to have certificate such as the CPCS or CMPE before they are allowed to work, so bear this in mind.
No, Nicholas Plant Hire do not supply operators. However, we may be able to put you in contact with experienced operators.
